Our Fixings Warehouse at Hinges and Brackets
We stock and sell an awful lot of fixings, kept at our warehouse in Maidstone and available from all branches.
We sell screws NOT by the packet but by however many you need from one upwards. The same goes for nuts and bolts and nails. We only sell you the quantity you want.
Screws are stocked in various styles from the ubiquitous Philips head or supascrew through the fancy mirror screw to the old fashioned (and hard to get hold of) raised head slotted countersunk screw. Finishes include Chrome, Brass, Black Japanned, Self Colour steel, Zinc Plated, Stainless steel and some bronzed. We actually still have some gross boxes, that is 144 screws per box, left over from times past that have still not been used.
Nuts and bolts come in an array of useful applications. Coach bolts, Hook bolts , Gutter bolts, Bed bolts, Handrail bolts as well as Locking nuts (which can be painful!), Wing nuts, brass nuts and screws that are really bolts like Hex Head set screws and Machine screws.
For the upholsterers amongst you we still have some chair nails left, but for the tax man we do not sell value added tacks! Only thumb tacks, blued tacks, cut nails, round wire nails, oval nails, masonry nails, panel pins, gimp pins (but not that sort of gimp you were thinking of!), escutcheon pins, and our very popular Rosehead Nails.
Rosehead nails are made in the same tradition as the handmade nails made, often at boatyards, before the industrial revolution. The nail has a distinctive pyramidal head and slender shaft designed for clenching over.
For most fixings it is best to ask in store.
